Guestbook Commentary

Since December 20, 2003, when a National Vision for Sierra Leone Guest Book was
placed in the National Museum, over 600 people have signed their names and written
their comments on the National Vision exhibit.  In a country where literacy is in the
teens, and, where, therefore, many visitors are unable to write in the book, this is an
astounding figure.  The comments speak for themselves.  Here is a sampling:

Rajiv Bendre, Director, British Council
"A moving and uplifting exhibition"

Mark S. Koroma
“I really find it beyond comprehension why I was so late in partaking of such things as a
Sierra Leonean.  But to be justice, am very much great of what I saw my brothers and
sisters did and I hope to see more.”

Arnold Sesay
“I really like coming here because I learn better things about my country, Sierra Leone.”

Hon Chief Hindowa from Bo
“Congratulations to the Vision members.  I think this is what Sierra
Leoneans need.  I support that the vision move to the provinces so that
every Sierra Leonean will include in the Vision for Sierra Leone

Robin Vincent, Special Court, Registrar
“An uplifting and humbling experience at the same time”

Edmund Makiu, UNICEF
“This is the best Sierra Leone has ever had.  Sierra Leoneans need to work hard to meet
the wonderful vision”

Melrose Cotay, Director, INCLUDE
“This is an invaluable work that needs to be pushed forward”

Moisia Kawa
“I wish to see this program included in the school curriculum of Sierra Leone in order to
educate our young students about their role in the development of our beloved country”

Mrs. Florence Okrap-Smart, Limount College
“A laudable venture which needs to come to fruition with the help of
everyone”

Claudine AE Davies, Limount College
“I’m amazed at the terribly exceptional talent our country possesses in
people.  Sierra Leone, indeed, has a bright future”

David Minah, SL government
“It has been a very impressive 10 minutes.  The exhibits are highly moving and they
depict what we’ve been through.  Reconciliation is the way forward and we should all
join in it so that Sierra Leone can move forward to a brighter future”

AR Hassan-King
“I congratulate the TRC and all the contributors.  The nation has spoken”

Mary Margaret Dineen, National Democratic Institute, Freetown
“Inspirational representation of the positive human potential for peace, harmony and
development that Sierra Leone deserves.  Bravo and thank you”

Ergery Fedorov, Russia
“You are on the way to make your country powerful and rich.  Don’t loose this way.
  Thanks”
